Requirements

In order to successfully pass Sports History you will need the following items.

1. Pencil or Pen (Mechanical pencils are preferable)
2. Notebook
3. Box of Kleenex

Required Reading for the semester

1. Eight Men Out by Eliot Asinof
2. The Punch: One Night, Two Lives, and the Fight That Changed Basketball Forever by John Feinstein
3. Friday Night Lights: A Town, a Team, and a Dream by H. G. Bissinger
4. Any sports related novel. I must approve of the title. You will do a book review on the novel. 

Sports History

    Welcome to the first semester of the 2007-2008 school year. Sports History is the study of our nations athletic past. We will utilize the textbook, magazines, current events, movies, films, novels, and each other in order to better understand the role sports has had on our history, culture, and society. I hope during the course of the year your knowledge and understanding of the history of sports will continue to grow.
